NBA Training Camp Locations

You can’t blame people for their lack of interest in NBA training camps.  When the NBA opens their first major workouts of the season, the NFL is well underway and the MLB playoffs have started.   On top of that, NBA training camps are often closed to the public.  Unless you’re a diehard fan, or a NBA team makes camp on your college campus, NBA training camps are often unmemorable events.  It’s probably the reason why only one NBA team (Orlando Magic) has an official listing of previous training camp locations.  However despite their lack of relevancy, it’s still interesting to see where NBA teams have camped at.

Some Important Notes:
To find NBA training camp locations I exhausted all the resources available to me.  You can check out my list of references here (132 pages).  With that said I wasn’t able to find every training camp location.  Missing data is filled with a question mark.  If anybody has any information to contribute please contact me.

Throughout the season, teams in the NBA hold a number of different camps and workouts.  The training camp I reported on was the fall training camp.  The fall training camp consist of free agents, rookies, and team veterans.  The fall training camp often only lasts a week, and it’s conducted before the NBA preseason. Coaches often put their players through two-day workouts during training camp.

The 1998-1999 NBA season was shortened due to a lockout.  This meant in the year 1999 two training camps were conducted.  A “j” was placed next to the training camp date, to indicate the training camp was held in the month of January.
