NFL Draft: The Latest “First” from the Position to go in the Draft

The NFL Network announced during their coverage of the NFL draft tonight, that when RB Mark Ingram was selected with the 28th pick by the New Orleans Saints, it marked the latest selection in which a RB first went in the modern draft. Previously RB Greg Bell held the distinction, when he was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in the 1984 draft with the 26th selection. Interesting note: Although originally selected as a QB, Tom Tupa would go on to become one of the most consistent performing punters in the NFL.
