Experience in the Super Bowl

Posted by Andrew McKillop on February 1, 2011

The Pittsburgh Steelers have 25 players on their Super Bowl roster with prior Super Bowl experience.  In comparison the Packers only have two players on their Super Bowl roster with prior Super Bowl experience.  Does this give the Steelers any kind of edge going into Sunday’s game?

The answer is no.  Historically the team that had the most players with prior Super Bowl experience has had a winning percentage of .500 in the big game (small sample size of 44 games).  Check below for a complete breakdown of the topic.
