College Football: Scoring and Surrendering 50+ Points Twice in the Same Season
Posted by Andrew McKillop on November 12, 2011
The Toledo Rockets have had a wild ride the past two weeks. After losing to Northern Illinois 60-63, they rebounded with a 66-63 victory over Western Michigan. In back to back games, Toledo has both scored 60 plus points and surrendered 60 plus points.
It’s the first time in the history of major college football, that any team has both scored and surrendered 60 points or more twice in the same season; let alone in back to back games.
It’s also only the third time in the history of major college football, that a team has both scored and surrendered 50 points or more twice in the same season. In all three cases now, the schools split the games.
